About Develop Gravity
Rochester built.
Upstate proud.
We’re engineers and IT pros who got tired of watching small businesses get big-company treatment: slow tickets, vague invoices, zero accountability. So we built the opposite.
01/
The story.
Develop Gravity started in Rochester with a simple observation: the bars, shops, and offices that keep Upstate New York running were stuck choosing between overpriced enterprise MSPs and the owner’s nephew who “knows computers.” Neither worked.
We’re software engineers and infrastructure people by trade. We’ve built apps in Laravel, Ruby, Rust, and Go, run networks, and managed servers for companies of every size. We took that experience and pointed it at Main Street — with flat pricing, plain language, and a phone that gets answered.
And everything we do is custom-scoped, à la carte. Take what you need. Skip what you don’t. No forced bundles, no platinum tiers.
The name? Gravity is the force that pulls everything together and holds it down. That’s the job: pull your systems together, hold your business steady, and develop what’s next.

What we stand on.
Plain Talk
No jargon, no acronym soup. If we can’t explain it in one sentence, we haven’t finished thinking about it.
Flat Pricing
You should never be afraid to call your IT company. One monthly number. No meter running.
Show Up Fast
Downtime costs you money by the minute. We treat every outage like it’s our own register that stopped ringing.
Own It
If we break it, we say so and we fix it. Your hardware, your data, your accounts — they belong to you, always.

Why local matters.
We drink the coffee, eat the garbage plates, and shovel the same snow you do. When a national MSP’s “local presence” is a subcontractor, ours is a truck that can be at your door the same day.
Local means we know that a Park Ave boutique, a Finger Lakes winery tasting room, and a Lake Placid lodge all have completely different problems — and we’ve stood inside all three.
- On-site service within about three hours of our Rush, NY home base, just south of Rochester. Response targets live in your service agreement — not on a map.
- You get a named engineer who knows your shop, not a rotating call center cast.
- Built for Upstate reality: old buildings, thick walls, lake-effect outages, and seasonal rushes.

The stack we run.
No reseller badges, no certificates on the wall. These are the tools we use every day because they work.
Ubiquiti / UniFi
Enterprise-grade networking without enterprise licensing fees. We design, install, and manage UniFi Wi-Fi, Protect cameras, and door access — hardware you own outright.
Gusto Payroll
We run payroll on Gusto: we migrate, configure, and automate it for Upstate small businesses — including tip pooling and time-tracking sync built for bars and restaurants.

Open SourceWe ♥
open source.
Everything we run stands on open source — Linux, and a hundred tools you’ve never heard of. We don’t just take. We contribute upstream to the projects we rely on, and we release some of our own tools as open source for the next crew.
Find Us on GitHub- Upstream firstBugs we hit get fixed at the source, not papered over in our copy.
- Tools releasedInternal tools that earn their keep get cleaned up and published.
- No lock-in, everOpen standards, open formats. Your data leaves with you — though we’d rather you stayed.
