Service 05/08 — Managed Payroll · Powered by Gusto
Payroll.
Handled.
Powered by Gusto. Managed by us. We configure, migrate, and run the whole thing — onboarding, tips, time tracking, benefits — so payday just happens.
The problem/
Payroll eats your Sunday night.
Hours get totaled by hand. Tip pooling lives in a notebook behind the bar. New hires fill out paper packets, filings sneak up on you, and one typo means an angry employee on payday. It’s the most repetitive, highest-stakes chore in the building.
The fix/
Gusto power. Our heavy lifting.
We set Gusto up around how your business actually pays people — then we keep running it. Hours flow in from your time clock or POS, tips split by your rules, new hires onboard from their phone. Payroll runs on Gusto. Payroll is managed by us.
01/
What we take over.
Setup & Migration
We configure Gusto around your business and migrate you from spreadsheets, ADP, Paychex, or paper — history intact, any time of year.
Time-Tracking Sync
Hours flow from your POS or time clock straight into payroll. No more Monday math.
Tip Pooling
Built for bars and restaurants: pooled, split, and reported by your house rules, automatically.
Onboarding & Offboarding
New hires get offer letters, W-4s, I-9s, and direct deposit on their phone before their first shift. Departures closed out clean — final checks and all.
Benefits Plumbing
Bring your own benefits or pick from Gusto’s options — either way, we wire them into payroll so deductions just happen. We’re not a broker.
Ongoing Administration
Rate changes, corrections, garnishments, off-cycle runs — we administer payroll month after month. You approve. We operate.
Runs Powered by Gusto
Pay runs, direct deposits, and federal, state, and local tax filings happen on Gusto’s platform — on time, every time.
Ongoing Support
Questions, new locations, rule changes, weird pay runs — call us, not a national help line.
We run payroll. We’re not your HR department.
And we’re not a benefits broker — bring your own benefits or pick from Gusto’s options. Either way, we handle the plumbing: the setup, the syncs, the deductions, the filings. Hiring policy and HR advice stay yours.
02/
Who it’s for.
Bars & Restaurants
Tipped staff, split shifts, and high turnover are exactly what we automate. Tip pooling alone pays for the project.
Shops With Hourly Staff
Hours sync from the time clock, overtime calculates itself, and payday becomes a review-and-approve.
Offices Without HR
Get real benefits, clean onboarding, and compliant filings — without hiring an HR department to run them.
Farms & Seasonal Crews
Headcounts that swing with the seasons. Onboarding and offboarding handled as workers come and go — planting through harvest, payday just happens.

Straight answers.
Can we switch payroll providers mid-year?
Yes. We migrate year-to-date wages and tax data into Gusto so your W-2s come out clean at year end. Mid-year switches are routine — we handle the heavy lifting and run a parallel test cycle before you go live.
How does automated tip pooling actually work?
We encode your house rules — points, hours, roles, splits between front and back of house — so pooled tips calculate from actual POS data each pay period. Staff see transparent totals, and you stop arbitrating math disputes.
What does Gusto itself cost?
Gusto charges a monthly base fee plus a few dollars per employee — typically far less than legacy providers. Our managed service is one flat monthly rate on top: setup, administration, onboarding, and support included. You’ll see both numbers before committing.
Will it work with our POS and time clock?
Almost certainly. Gusto integrates natively with most major time and POS systems, and where a native sync doesn’t exist, we build the connection ourselves — that’s literally one of our other services.
Do you replace our accountant?
No — we make them happier. Your accountant or bookkeeper gets cleaner, automated payroll data flowing into the books. We’re glad to coordinate with them directly during setup. Same honesty on scope: we run payroll, we’re not your HR department, and we’re not a benefits broker — bring your own benefits or use Gusto’s options, and we handle the plumbing.
What kind of contract are we signing?
One year to start. Talk to us if you need different. Most engagements begin with a one-year agreement — and we’re open to other terms if that’s what makes it work for you.
